Spring Golfing at Sandestin

  • Posted on

I recently hosted a large group of Auburn Delta Chi brothers and decided to take them golfing.

From the diversity of courses to availability of times, Sandestin is hard to beat.  Course difficulty varies from fun to challenging with everything in between (Baytowne, Links, Raven, and Burnt Pine), and we decided to give Burnt Pine a try.

Come to find out, the Burnt Pine golf course was designed by Rees Jones (brother to Robert Trent Jones), and Robert Trent Jones designed The Raven course.  Sandestin is the only place where both brothers designed courses within the same resort.

Within 10 minutes of loading up our golf carts, we were playing golf and enjoying the Choctawhatchee Bay's views and gentle breeze from the west.  We drank a few transfusions served up by a super friendly beverage cart attendant and lost several lost balls to the water hazards, but we had a blast playing this course!  We finished the day at the club house, enjoying a few more drinks and wings before golf carting back to the bungalow.

You can't beat Sandestin as a golf destination!
